If I've got my terminology right, is bigger, and the moon is bigger now than it has been for 18 years, and than it will be for the next 18. The moon's orbit is eliptical, and so sometimes it's closer than others. Now it's close. Here's a far more coherent explanation, should you want it.
Yesterday, I am told, was the best day to view it, and by happy circumstance I got the chance to, and today as well, from home with a camera! SOoooooo
