Now your turn, c'mon, if I can, you should be able to, you've got bags of national pride to hold up there......

Beth, cool, no? I should put the photo of the poachers the other way up, they look remarkably like WWII SS helmets....kind of alarming.

Beth, what colour are yours?

Kim, Silicone is pretty big here too, though I will confess to being an old fashioned girl and preferring metal as a rule of thumb, but these babies do work very well.

Jan, I was poaching them without the holder, and they worked just fine, though I have to admit, they come out prettier this way, and you lose less of the white, plus you can do more than one egg at a time, which is nice.

Helen, noted, I won't try it without the oil! Thanks.

JG...sometimes, something simple that works is a neat thing.orenetahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10616103982088424715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8311151968716514867.post-20649993091121286732012-04-17T03:49:19.497-07:002012-04-17T03:49:19.497-07:00I'm kind of a purist, too, but some of them ar...I'm kind of a purist, too, but some of them are genius and actually work . . . like these, apparently. I never loved poached eggs so I can't be a valued commentor. As for finding something to drink whilst out - sounds like a good compromise. I often stick with fizzy water - sometimes called club soda or sparkling mineral water and add a bit of lemon or lime juice. Speaking of which...it's time to let out my latest batch...The Bodhi Chicklethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12287125977780580043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8311151968716514867.post-12904942541226438472012-04-15T14:36:05.352-07:002012-04-15T14:36:05.352-07:00I have some of those – love them. Do you just crack the egg into them, and set them in boiling water until they are ready? It looks like evn the top part gets cooked just from the heat of the water. Can you get the yolk to stay runny while the white is cooked? That's how they like them at my house (though I am not a fan of runny yolks...)katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16975826433125245969noreply@blogger.com
