If you can bear to read online there are a lot of full text transcrpts of out of print books on the internet now, which may be better than ploughing on with a book you hate just because it is there. It bore me so much that I managed only to read one page a day.
Now, for all the other books, even when they're bad, I'm too curious not to finish them. I would be frustrated not to know the end, thinking "who knows, maybe it gets better near the end".
Also, I usually know before buying the book whether I'll like it or not. The synopsis, and even sometimes just the title, are enough to give me a vague idea of what it might be about.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8311151968716514867.post-84361361058250342842009-03-12T15:42:00.000-07:002009-03-12T15:42:00.000-07:00She, part of the issue is here that I don't have a...She, part of the issue is here that I don't have all THAT many books to salivate over....sitting in that chair right now, I think it is going to be staying....

Beth, YELP!!! I have given him a fair chance, I have tried and tried, but now I have given up on him. He is too verbose and weird. He writes prose as if it were poetry in some funny kind of way. Cannot explain it any better. My brother hates him. But I keep his two books on my shelf as a reminder not to buy any more.
