Antarctica

If you haven't been following this blog by a glass sculptor, David Ruth, in Antarctica studying ice, you should go and check it out. He has left, and is posting the last of his photos gradually. It is amazing.

Hmm gorgeous photos on there!

On another note, I just tried the Spanish translation of your blog, and it's pretty funny...

Oh NO! Is it because I use so many idioms? It's the google translator, is it just crap? Do you know of a better one? Darn darn darn.

And have you ever seen what your blog looks like in Chinese? It's so cool...

I checked out the site. Beautiful photos. I'm going to pass along the link to my husband - the great traveller and photographer!

Me again. Where did your ads go? Did you give up?

Trish: I tried it in Chinese, all I got was lots of squares, I should try it again.

Beth: It is stunning, and yes, I HATED those ads. Couldn't face looking at them for another moment. If I put them where I (didn't) want to see them, well no one else would see them, and then what was the point....

For so long, Antarctica was restricted to scientists; it's been a revelation in recent decades to have it opened up to artists, who can better capture the character of the place!

Jocelyn: Thanks for coming by, and I agree with you COMPLETELY. It would be fantastic to try and find other artist who have been down, see their comments and then follow up on the impact it has on their work.
