Books for a sec...

Just finished reading "Hunting and Gathering" by Anna Gavalda, translated from French...WONDERFUL. Loved it.

Also just finished Pride and Prejudice....that was actually pretty good too...sounds snotty of me, but towards the end I found it quite hard to put down. Eldest is giving it a go now, we'll see how far she gets.

What have you been reading?

Just finished SITLL ALICE, and I wept. I loved it and I learned so much about dementia and Alzheimer's disease. My grandfather had it and then later died when I was in my second year of university. I wish I'd understood what he could feel and know about emotions and emotional cues even when he failed to know who we were. Beautifully told story.

I started a book on vacation, but haven't picked it up since. I might get into it come summer. I have read a few articles in a magazine, but it takes a couple days for that as I read just before bed and fall asleep.

Vegging on chick lit at the moment!

(The book pile for you - minus chick lit - continues to grow...)

She....I'll put that on the list too, though I am currently on happier books...

Dawn, hey, a little reading is better than none!

Beth...I love vegging in chick lit for a while....and thank you tons and tons for the book pile.

I am serious about your shoe size...if you like those shoes they are quite cheap here...

You know after all of the school reading lists I don't think I have ever read Pride and Prejudice. Think I will pick it up. How do you pronounce the potato omlett dish? Will you get to take out Oreneta this summer?

I have TONS of good, unread books on my shelf, but I don't seem to have decent-sized blocks of time for reading them right now.
So, I am currently reading back issues of 'New Scientist' in five minute chunks here and there during the day (while waiting for water to boil, etc).
I HAVE to have my daily reading fix- even if it's only a magazine...

Terrie...true/ee/ta de pa/ta/tas, or in spanish tortilla de patatas, nothing like the tortillas that we know and love, and yes, we will get out on Oreneta this summer, if all the sailing gods are with us!

Beth...how did you end up with tons and tons of good unread books?????
