How many of you out there just LOVE putting lunch boxes together in the mornings.
*crickets*
Yeah, I thought so.
SO hating that.
I have a plan though, one meal for each day of the week, and some permanent things...
Permanent:
Yogurt, ichiban noodles -dry and raw, fruit, raw veg, pickles.
Varied items:
Pierogues with sour cream, bagels and cream cheese, roasted potatoes with stuff in them, refried bean rollups, then I am stuck...random left-overs.
Water to drink.
So..help me out here folks, what's good in a lunch? Honestly..I need your suggestions here.

Well- first off, I have to confess to being a deviant freak that actually like packing lunches.
Next, I have to confess that I'm not all that crazy-creative with it. My kids love sandwiches, so I content myself with varying the bread (baguette, rolls, pita, whatever) and the fillings (PBJ, meats and cheeses, tuna salad, egg salad, hummus, etc.)
The kids are also big on little tupperware containers with pasta salad, rice salad, taboule, and that kind of thing.
This probably didn't help any, but I just like to comment so you know I'm around;)
PS- How about a bowl of gazpacho? I am SO into gaspacho right now.
I always go out for lunch. I know it's a big waste of time and money, but I just can't face lunch from home (making it or eating it).
Maybe Beth could come over every morning and make sandwiches for me?
Wow - you can make my lunch! I generally just do sandwich or salad, yogurt, fruit, nut bar thing. Thats it.
Leftovers over here...It can get a little dull.
Beth, I am sorry, you know I adore you, but you are indeed a deviant freak. I cannot even begin to imagine how anyone could enjoy this...but I am glad you do...
JG, I am so with you, wouldn't that be sweet! How about it Beth?
Helen, Sounds good....maybe my kids are just spoiled for offerings, I guess that I generally don't like bagged lunches either that have been hanging around for a few hours....
Hula, dull, a good description of bagged lunches. Ho hum.
JG- If you will fly me to Florida every morning, we've got a DEAL!
I sometimes make a big batch of quesadillas and cut them up and pack them and then they get quesas for a few days. Very nice and popular too.
Mmichele...that's a great idea....
