Shopping!

Went Christmas shopping in the village the other day and did alright.  Not the whole list, but quite a bit got done.  Quite enjoyed myself too.  Cool enough that it felt a bit like it might just be wintertime, but with a beautiful bright sunshine.  Peace, quiet and some success.  Part way there.

The fact that we are going to be on our own this year at Xmas has rather lightened the load as it shrinks the shopping list quite substantially.  Focused is good.

Yesterday I went into BCN to shop in the morning, and then again today.  I think it is D. O. N. E.  DONE!!!!

I still have to wrap and organise.

Rain does not put me into the Christmas spirit however.

Wrapping, relaxing and reading does.

Ah yes, the joys of discovering all the shopping is done, only to realize all the wrapping lies ahead. I spent a good chunk of time wrapping yesterday so I'm down to a few items and the stockings. But I'm also looking at a pile of baking and cooking tomorrow. Groan.

You are making great progress! I'm always happy to turn the corner where no more running around is required and the rest of the tasks involve staying home. That's the good part!

Did you pick up a red light district Xmas postcard for the BCN mayor? ;-) I heard about that campaign on NPR.

Bodhi, I kind of wish I had an oven so that we could do a little baking....

JG, The stay-home part is great....I didn't hear about the red-light district campaign...I'll have to go to NPR to figure it out.

JG, I am looking on NPR, and I am not seeing anything, could you give me a link? Even which radio station it was?

This is the text of the story I heard. Difficult situation, creative tactics, yes?

Thanks JG, that clears up a lot. I have actually seen the posters on the balcony and signed some of the petitions. There was a big clean-up for the 92 Olympics, but with the opening of the EU to Eastern Europe they suddenly have a big problem with not so reputable folks coming in quite legally. Something that needs to be tackled without a doubt, but not easy to do.
