We knew

But oh my goodness this week is Looooooooooong

Fortunately we are coming into a very long long long weekend.  In Catalan, a long weekend is called a pont, or a bridge.  This one is more like an aqueduct..... a super-pont.  We have a six day weekend coming up, then we go to work and school on Friday, and then another weekend rolls around.

I love living here.

Have I mentioned that before?

How can it possibly still be called a week-end when it's longer than the rest of the week? Shouldn't you say you have a very short weekinning?
PS: In France, it's when there is a holiday on a Thursday or Tuesday, and people take the Friday or the Monday off that they "do the bridge". Since they're taking a day off to connect the holiday and the week-end...

that's the reason it's a bridge isn't it - like in france? There are two holidays and the day inbetween is the pon to take you gently from one day off to another - you need another day off! Yes, lovely culture and people friendly. Hope you can manage till then - you must be t i r e d K xxx

The Catalans also say that they are 'doing a bridge' to make a long weekend. Here there is an official holiday on both the Tue and the Thur...hence the multi-span bridge we've got going on!

Kate...exactly....such a sensible idea.

Beth, yes...but without all the chaos!

Helen, exactly.

JG....I know just how lucky I am. Believe me.
