Jammies

Jammies

You would think that we would all have a certain amount of similarity about this, but no.

I remember taking a train through China back in 1989-90, and it was a long distance train.  All the Chinese, as soon as they got on the train, changed into their jammies and stayed in them till they got off.  (While smoking heavily)

The Catalans?  As soon as they are home for the day, they get in their jammies.  Aparently everyone does it.  If they're at home, they're in jammies.  This may explain the strangely high prices for jammies here too.

I don't know many folks in Canada who do this.  Teenagers, maybe yes, not when they get home, but not wanting to get out of them in the morning.

Do many of you change into jammies when you get home from work?  I mean, I am told, that they are cooking and eating dinner in their jammies.......

Not exactly a big deal, but odd differences.

No jammies to be seen in this house but I did get a pair for christmas from The Family and I love them so much that I might just take up the habit. Now I have an excuse!

I would like to ask your opinion about an edicational question - about Catalan and spanish in schools in fact. Just wondered if you would mind giving me your take on it if I send you the questions? It's for the blog but I don't need to quote you so you can be brutally honest :)

Well, there you go, you can call it cultural integration if you wander around in your jammies all day! and yes, I'd be happy to chat about education!!!

Working from home, I could be in my jammies all day! Would make for interesting video meetings, though :D.

You could stick with jammi bottoms......and a shirt and tie! THAT would be quite a look. I would hope someone would give you giant slippers with something silly on them like ducks!

For us, and I suspect like your family, jammies are for bed, and weekend mornings, but if you are in them past noon it means illness. No one in our family is ever in them after noon. The Chinese here wear them outside regularly, like some sort of odd leisure suit. Very funny to see a man or woman crossing a highway in pajamas.

We've never even been that formal about jammies! T-shirts and whatever's comfy, but yes, bed and weekend mornings, but not even that long, and I don't even then...in China, yes, jammies are different...and there are folks here I see out on the street (our small street) in jammies slippers and dressing gown to get smthg from the car or go down to the garbage...

I guess in TO we don't count the jammies when you run out to put out the garbage cause you hear the garbage truck coming!!!!!
