Del.icio.us

It just occurred to me that I should explain Del.icio.us some more, since I mentioned it. It is a social bookmarking site, which is a fancy way of saying that it is a public domain favourites list, so if you are away from your computer you can still find things, plus it is searchable because you use tags on your list, and better still, you can use their search engine to look for tags that interest you, and they list how many other people have also bookmarked that site so you can scan for potential usefulness based on that.

There is also a social aspect to it in that you can link to friends lists, or indeed also the lists of complete strangers with similar tastes and interests so you can see what they are reading...

It is a very powerful search tool, possibly more so than google, as it truly lists sites that people love, not that they have to go to, or who pay to be listed high...if that is how it works...certainly there is a predominance of .com sites on a goolge search.

Anyway, here it is, I highly recommend it...it's dead easy to use, immensely handy and tremendously powerful.

Cool! Thanks for the tip, and thanks for the nice comments at my blog. It was very sweet of you, and I'm very appreciative of it. I can't believe it did it without a donut either. I did have a big steak later in the day.

I've seen a lot of people with Del.icio.us on it but never really thought I would use it. I have enough to read. Looking at it though...it does seem pretty interesting.....

I checked it out. Great site. It would take me forever to move all my bookmarks there but I can start using it from now on.

Hulagirl, hey...I am impressed...It's true.

Sirdar, that's the trick, there is less to read 'cause you can find it faster.

Beth, It is very cool...I've got my blogs stored on bloglines, so I just use delicious for other stuff that would disappear if I didn't mark it somehow...

I looks interesting. I don't really use the internet much for searching things and if I do, it is usually a one time thing. I might check it out. It is nice to try new things recommended by others.
