Amazing Grace

Susan Aglukark singing Amazing Grace in Inuktituk.

The first time I heard this, Peter Gzowski played it on Morningside one morning while I was driving. I had to pull over to listen.

The images on the video make it even more amazing...and give it even more grace.

Sometimes I really miss Canada.

WOW that is some video.
I certainly never saw a sky like that, not once, in all the years I spent in Canada!
Just had 20 friends over for tea and cake to celebrate my nameday which is a big thing in in eastern Europe.
Most everyone is too stressed to do their own cooking and baking so I'm becoming very popular with my home made stuff!
We sang all kinds of Latvian folk songs and in the middle of it all it started to snow - so we tried to see how many we knew that had to do with winter and snow. it was lots of fun, as we even have some crazy winter solstice ones that fit in very well.Cheers, GM

I love Amazing Grace and this version was such a pleasure to listen to. I had no idea the Inuktituk language was so beautiful.

I love her singing. Our internet is too slow (upgrades we hope--rumour has it), so I can't listen to it tonight, but I will come back to give it a listen.

I managed to let it download and Dawn and I watched it. It was very beautiful and touching. Love the northing light pictures. They can be amazing most times. It is one of the great things about living in Canada.

Sirdar got it to download so I was able to watch it. Her voice is beautiful and the photos awesome. We don't the array of colours down here that they do there. It always amazes me to see the photos of what we miss.

GM, happy name day, I don't blame them for being happy to eat all your home made food, it is excellent...

Hulagirl, glad you liked it.

Beth, she has an amazing voice, I was completely disappointed though when I bought the album on the strength of this song the rest is badly mixed syntho-pop and doesn't do justice to her skills at all.

Trish, it is weird, I can now be homesick for several place...nice and not nice.

Dawn and Sirdar, I am glad you managed to see it...it is beautiful. All the space and wilderness....

Elpadawan, go north young man, go north..when the sky is clear and there is lots of solar flare activity...

Youngest, Sometimes life is weird isn't it; and sometimes it is in my job to be annoying..sorry.

I will never forget... she sang that at the flood fundraiser they had at the forks, just across the river from our home. thousands and thousands of people were there and when she sang this we were all completely silent. it was breathtaking.

Michele, that would have been an absolutely amazing performance. Do you know if she has another album out that highlights her talents better?
