Scatological Catalonia.

No, that isn't quite what it looks like.

Catalans have a very strong scatalogical streak in them, and there is a tradition at Christmas of having a caga Tio, (crapping uncle)  which is actually a log who gets the sh*t wacked out of him by the kids on Xmas and is expected to 'crap' gifts and candy.  Like this one above.

I just had to buy it.

It was essencially a marshmellow.  The toilet paper on top?  You know that floury stuff they use for the host in Catholic mass?  Yeah, that's it.

Opens a whole new world of wonder and amazement that combination.

Not going to go there though.

Not tonight.

Confession: That is the FIRST thing I thought of when I looked at the photo. Thank heavens you qualified it for me! (or else I would feel like an adolescent who refuses to grow up).

Brilliant! I think I was definitely a Catalan in a previous life! You should get those indoor fireworks to celebrate they look like turds!

This has it all over the pinatas of my childhood Spanish classes. I doubt they could have gotten away with it, but boy, I wish they'd have taught us about this instead.

Hi oreneta, "tió" is a log in the fireplace. So the translation would be "shitting log", at least this is how my british bil says it ! :-)

Nice paintings
