Rain

It has rained all day.

ALL. DAY.

Not only has it rained all day, for most of the day it has rained hard.

It is the most astonishing volume of water.

My Great Aunt Peggy never saw Uluru, or Ayer's Rock up close. It flooded when she was in Alice Springs and she couldn't get over too it.

What is the most rain you have ever seen?

What a great picture.
Sorry to report it has been BEAUTIFUL here all day!
The most rain I've ever seen? Probably one of those massive storms at the cottage - roof leaking, mud slides down to the lake. Exciting times.

Beth, I am glad you like the picture, I took about 10 before I got the rain drop right....I'm glad the weather was lovely there, after the winter you had.....mud slides at the lake! Not big I hope, they can be pretty dangerous.

I was just going to say the same thing... what an amazing photo.

Most rain? A warm summer storm that had us soaked to the skin and playing in puddles.

Many Holidays in the Lake District have been at least partially comprised of a thorough drenching. Probably the most rain I've actuaslly had to contend with as someone who doesn't drive was 2 weeks ago, when we had abismal Weather, it rained heavily for about 4 days. I had no option but to go out in it and I walked to and from work in it (40 minutes worth of walking). Everything in my rucksack and all my clothes and my hair and my face looked as if I'd fallen into a tub of water, not just been rained on! (It has now been a glorious 24ish degrees centigrade and sunny in the UK for 10 days!) :o)

A few years ago it rained all day - by the time I left the place I'd been in all day at 5pm there were floods everywhere. It took me 2 hours and 3 alternative routes to find a way home that the floods only reached up to the door sills on the car and so I could get through (25 minute journey normally. The power was out and we were on candles along with 2 of Adam's friends who were unable to get through the floods. 2 days later at work the carpark was still a lake and the tables were 18 inches deep in water everywhere. All rain. Even by Welsh standards that is a lot of rain.

The most rain we saw was about 4 years ago when at a family reunion at the lake. Sirdar had gone out with my cousins and our kids and nephew on the boat on the lake. They had to row out to the motor boat. They saw the clouds coming in and turned the boat. When they got to the row boat, they got in and it started raining. In the 4 minutes it took to get to shore, they were drenched. Z had a broken leg and they were in shorts and t- shirts and Sirdar ended up carrying her to the cabin. In Edmonton with that storm, there were cars flooded under overpass bridges when they tried to go under and the vehicles got stuck. There were a lot of flooded basements from that storm as well. Our place was none the worse for wear, but for a lot of branches and leaves on the ground.

That's an awesome shot! Most rain I ever faced was in Vietnam, during the Monsoon season... People showering on rooftops ;)
