Hangin out

You know what?

An evening spent hanging around with the kids is just great.

They are so right.

Just hang out. Watch the cat eat a mouse, cook a fairly miserable meal, but what the heck. Go for a walk, check out the ants, listen to cool music. Teach youngst how to text message, do a little laundry, wash some dishes, stick to the mucky kitchen floor while I cook, eat outside in the breeze, listen to kids in the park.

All the important things in life.

What's your favourite thing to do when you're just hangin out?

"teach youngest to text message" <-- I thought it was the opposite :D.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that provide life's greatest pleasures.
I like your "cook a fairly miserable meal" - that's always good for lots of laughs with the kids!

I don't know about a favorite thing to do, but we spent time sitting around the pool last night just laughing and splashing and it was great. Makes me wonder why we're always in such a hurry.

elPadawan, I've never been all that good at doing what I was supposed to do...

Beth, it was not so great, one of those ones that just seems immune to flavour, no matter what you do it comes out bland....

Hula, that was exactly what I thought, why all the hurrying around?

Sounds about perfect to me.

Hanging out just means having no real agenda - just doing 'whatever' in each other's company.

I like to turn on some music, get out a good book, and jump in my big jacuzzi bathtub and just be.

I do this almost every day. I think I'm the only person I know who has one of these fancy tubs who actually uses it.

In the winter, when it gets dark early, I will also set up candles.

so relaxing.....

I love to sit and read the paper and drink coffee on some mornings when I am not rushed. And some evenings sit and read while everyone is doing there thing. We have a small place so we can hear each other and the comments and have conversations even if in other rooms. A small house is a blessing in that way.
