OMG

Eldest is now an adolescent.

I don't know if I will make it through the next decade.

I really don't.

Was I this completely irrational?

Having lived through it, I can honestly say that it varies from child to child.

And dare i mention that grandbabies are the reward we get from having lived through the teenage years with our own kids?? LOL!

Of course we were never that irrational - or so we thought at the time. It was my mother who was completely irrational.
Best of luck! There will be joy as well.

I don't recall your teenage years, sorry. But teenagers never are irrational. They just follow a logic only themselves can grasp :). Remember, back then, it all made sense...

Carla...I was hoping some vets would login here. I was thinking this morning that I should view it the same way as toddler emotional overrides...except the stakes were lower then.

Beth, that is some of the fun knowing how completely insane and cruel they are sure that we are.

elPadawan, yes yes yes, it is true to some extent, though they didn't factor in the hormones with their logic...

Oh no, I am sure you weren't so irrational. I was talking to my mom about the oldest 17, and saying how she turned around quite a bit and isn't as rational as she was last year. Mom said it is normal and you just count the years. I thought they were going to get more rational at 16, but that is when she became irrational in some of her thinking. Nothing a few short talks didn't remedy. I have only one preteen now and the rest are teens. Looking forward to the grandbabies as Carla mentioned.
