Whoever writes this sh*t will spend a long long time in h*ll

Can you read that? You don't want to. It is the user's manual for an end-user, like me. Aside from the poor grammar and missing verbs, this is a piece of sh*t. Click on that to read a little of the full glory of this bit of crap.

It even tells me to plug my pen drive into the wireless router that this is the manual for. The wireless router doesn't have a port for a pen drive. Nice shooting Tex.

I'll RTFM when you write one worth reading you dick heads.

This manual brought to you by Edimax.

Personnally, when I needed to put some WiFi all over the place, I used Linksys products, and it didn't go that bad. And now, with my new Internet provider, the box comes with the WiFi enabled on it already, and a little sticker with the network name, and password, for when I want to connect a WiFi computer on it. Pretty straightforward.

How do you secure it? I can make it work, plug it in and off I go, all I am trying to do is secure the system....but.....

I got Trevor to do it - it might be worth sending him an email

I find this post rather refreshing - although I DO empathize with your frustration!

P.S. By "refreshing," I mean it reminds me of some of my rants re: electronics/tech stuff and I'm glad to "read" that others are capable of the salty language too!

I have enough trouble understanding well written manuals that give instructions with part that exist. That would definitely make me mental.

Youch. They are lucky they won't have to deal with you in person. I always wonder how something meant to 'help' is so incredibly, almost miraculously, unhelpful.

What a relief to know that you, whom I consider WAY BEYOND ME IN COMPUTER LITERACY, RANT AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL COMPREHENSIBILITY. GM

elP..of COURSE the computer Padawan gets the brand that is easy to use....and I struggle with this thing...

Helen, I may resort to it...

Beth, glad I can be reassuring...I discover swear words I haven't used in years when driving, they just seem to suit that person PERFECTLY.

Dawn, I want to know where they get off writing crap like that...not like I will EVER buy a product made by them again, and I have made my opinion clear for ALL to see.

Mmichele, I am not always nice...though I usually take a while to build up that sort of steam...now always though...

GM...unbelievable, eh? Unbelievable.

I preferred the "progressive" approach. First have something that works. Then, to secure the whole thing, looked into WEP and WPA (or PSK/TKIP, not sure about the name that is used in English). And depending on your existing network configuration and what you want to do, I may be able to help.

Progression is good. It works. When I have the time and patience I will give it another go, and I may get you on chat when you get a chance and see, I'll try again myself.

Have you found an apartment yet? Furniture arrive? I assume that is why things are quiet on your blog right now....

Take care and good luck
