Rough day again. Sorry.

Am I the only one who feels compelled to do everything they can to ensure their kids are happy, and who feels crappy when they just can't pull it off?

Good lord, I keep whining.

Sorry.

No, you are not the only one and it never stops. However, you gradually (sort of) learn that you can't always do that. In the meantime, they learn that you will always be there for them - to "pick up the pieces" if necessary.
They also learn that to achieve happiness sometimes takes effort.

I don't do it as much as I used to. Hubby....not evolving in that direction. Sigh.

If I were in Catalonia, I'd hijack you and take you for a margarita and girls night out. You need some dancin'.

I too have been a bit less happy than normal... too many little things annoying me.. So I decided to organise a birthday party for one of the girls that took my under her wing here in Cairo. She is so super at making stuff happens the rest of us hardly get a look in...It has brightened me no end. Kids never care if you get 'it' right. They just care if you take time to sit on the back step and watch ants with them on a sunny day.

Beth, it is all a learning experience isn't it...move from trying to influence their world, to helping them when it is the craps....

Hula, now THAT is a good idea.

Lynda, there do seem to be waves of less happy periods, don't there. Mine is tied to the hassles of going to Canada for two and a half months, leaving the man for six weeks, and starting a different job, sorting out where we are going to stay, getting a car booked, camps, all the grading, and taxes in two countries...it will pass. In September. *sigh*

That isn't completely true or fair, we have a good time in TO too.

I think you're not the only one. I'd be exactly the same. You're not alone ;)

elPadawan, thank you...an globally I don't even really have that much to complain about...there are days though.
