May I present our Thanksgiving dinner

Not traditional, but we liked it.

(is it just me or is blogger making it a whole lot more difficult and a huge lot slower to upload photos these days?)  Bleh to you blogger.

We made the lasagna from scratch, even the noodles!  Youngest and I, and the pie was fantastic, made by the man, one of his best.  The figs?  I stole those all by myself off a tree this afternoon.  There were none in the shops and that just wasn't going to do for thanksgiving.  Forbidden fruit indeed.

Happy Thanksgiving folks!

Stolen figs, but what is in the center of that plate? It looks like pigs feet. Oh please, tell me it isn't so. I find Blogger slow to load photos some days and some times of days. It is not consistent with me although I have heard others complain about having difficulty. Happy Thanksgiving - we had a curry tonight, also not very traditional but what the hey.

Mmmm, looks delish! I guess I'd better start thinking about what kind of pies to make this year.

Yes, Blogger is indeed slow on the photo draw these days.

Yummy. I didn't even know lasagne had noodles in it!
We don't give thanks for anything here we simply make Xmas last for about 3 months. It's already starting!
Have you tried reducing the size of the photo before you download it? I find that does help.

Bodhi, no, it's not pig's feet, though I have enjoyed those. My vegetarian kids wouldn't be so sure. They are giant croutons, with melted goat's cheese on top.

Curry...now there's a craving you've just started up!

JG, we've got plans for pumpkin pretty soon.

Life with Kaishon, thanks for dropping by! It was lovely.

Mmichele, yup, figs, and pomegranites and persimones are in season now...mmmmm. Oh, and mushrooms.

Boo, what do you mean you didn't know it had noodles in it????? Xmas...I'd like that not to start too early. Good thing about Halloween and Thanksgiving, keeps Christmas in its place a bit better.

That lasagna looks divine. Is there such a thing as too much pie? I think not.

Maybe our definitions of noodle is different. Lasagne is a sheet of pasta a noodle is a stringy thing that you get in chinese cookery.
I have a fantastic veggie lasagne recipe with green beans and walnuts but not a noodle in sight

I wondered if we were lost in a UK/NA language gap too, noodles to me are any form of pasta, not necessarily long and stringy. There were, indeed, no long stringy things involved. If you want to send on the veggie lasagna recipe that'd be great, ours was also veggie...and we were quite happy. Leeks and broccoli figured large.
