Sea glass

OK Carla, here they are!

These photos came out strange and dark, but dinner is calling me so it's what you get...

Here is all I found yesterday, penny included for scale...great colours, mostly small pieces:

Look at this one...mottled blues and opaque white and a darker blue:

I found a black one! Never before! I got lots of yellows and oranges, a red, many shades of blue, some interesting greens....even some lilacs...a very good day...well, hour or so....

Here some of the yellows I found..they look brighter in fact, the camera has flattened the glow:

Note the purples, very rare!

Had fun...today? Recuperacións a la casa nostre....cleaned, hung paintings, removed blue tack smudges, cleaned our drawers, tackled Youngest's room...napped!!!

Hope you had a great weekend,

Cheers,

O

??? Glass from the sea? From beach combing? Marvellous colours, but where does it all come from?

Yes, from beachcombing...glass of some form lands in the sea and gets broken and washed around until it is glazed and rounded...and then some of it winds up on shore! It is beautiful and fun to look for...be careful with the mushrooms my friend..there are probably mycological groups where you live which would be more reliable than the internet for checking edibility.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all!! Ok, I'm now jealous!! LOL

Speaking of beach glass, my sister is leaving tomorrow for 3 weeks in the Bahamas, your old stomping ground. I asked her to hunt for me. I also asked her to take some pictures for you.

Btw, are you feeling better now?

I'm with Carla..jealous, jealous, jealous. There's something intriguing and romantic about sea glass. These pieces are beautiful. I can't decide which color I like best.

I too collect sea glass at my summer home in the Bay of Islands in Newfoundland. I specially love the blue and white pottery. I have found a lot of old pieces...

Jason, it is so magical...if you know more about it, you can even tell about where some of the bottles came from...other than beer.

Carla, you're making me jealous too...the Bahamas...OMG, what I would give.

Beth...I was in Sephora today briefly thinking of you as well.....??????

Hula, I don't try with favourites, very bad at it...it frustrates my children.

Bluebird. Welcome! Did you know that I am half Newf? I bet not! Do you live there year round or only in the summer?

I meant to write about your sea glass earlier. It is lovely. My mother in law collected it and I must try to spot her collection the next time I'm on PEI because someone might not realize it's precious.
