Paint paint paint

Day 1:

Life drawing with paint.

The morning was a little challenging getting warmed up again, I did alright with the drawings on the small paper, but the big paper was something of a disaster....

then in the afternoon we finally got to get out the brushes, again rather a small scale, but given the mornings problems.....

much better.

Sadly we can only be there from 9:30 am through to 4:30, so we cannot stay late and paint; which I do truly find frustrating, but six hours a day will have to hold me, even if I do feel like 10 or more.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

It is such a challenge drawing what you actually see rather than what you think you see. Total head game.

I loved the book 'Drawing on the Right Side of Your Brain' . . . it showed me how to find the negative space and draw from there - so cool - and taking classes would be so great to expand on that.

I passed on a blog-friend award to you if you want to stop by and pick it up :)

Only six hours?!
Aching back? Cramped fingers?
Guess neither would matter while doing something you love.

How lovely for you, Rocky! Sounds like this is just what you need. Keep having fun!

BTW- I've been dealing with paint lately, too, but I have no nice artwork to show for it. Last night, my dear spouse dumped gallons of white paint ALL over the main staircase in the middle of our house! What a mess! I WISH I was in England with you and didn't have to help clean and scrape...

NB:Trish mentioned a GREAT book that revolutionised my life. DOTRSOYB is amazing! If you are someone reading this and think you can't draw, GET that book and do the exercises in it! You will be amazed and astounded.

I wish I were there with you painting, C! Sounds lovely, barring the bad airline food on the way over. Can't wait to see what you've made!

Six hours of nonstop painting...ah. I so enjoy that kind of thing. I just wish I had some talent for it.

Trish, I will have to look up that book, I have heard of it before but never read it....

GM...I'm having fun anyway...

Beth, no aching back, no stiff fingers, frozen solid, but the time SOARS.....

Beth...OMG what a horror with the paint...truly how terrible....I will try and look up that book.

Carla, it would certainly be very very cool if you could be here!

Hula, who cares about talent if it makes you happy!

I could easily write for 10 hours straight without flinching! It's one of my favorite things to do. I need a benefactor! ; )
