How do you make a dog shed his coat?

Poor old Chuck is suffering in the heat these days.  For some reason or other, that I cannot get, he isn't shedding, and you know what?  It's pretty warm here.  We're going running EARLY tomorrow, I hope he makes the distance!

En Chuck, pobret, encara no ha deixat el pel....i fa molt de calor.  Demà anim a córrer ben aviat, espero que aguanti!

No idea I'm afraid. Bonnie could do with less too. Old fashioned brushing out the fluffy layer? takes a while but seems to get rid of a lot.
Today I walked her a bit too late in the morning and she didn't stop puffing for an hour - do watch out - its hot! Kx

That’s strange. In warm weather Major always shed – so much so we could pull it off/out in huge tufts. Poor Chuck. Maybe he’s waiting for shedding time in Canada?

That sounds like the beginning of a joke - push him down the Alps?
I believe that dogs start shedding with the difference in daylight. Maybe he is not a very sheddy dog

We have been brushing him, but it isn't the same, when he's really shedding it comes off in incredible amounts, now just a bit.

Beth, Exactly...huge tufts, not quite like some Sheppards I've seen here, but handfuls, ues.....but not yet.

Boo and Trev, doesn't it! I should run a contest for punch lines, and let me tell you, he is indeed a very sheddy dog, every year but this one. I also think that we should submit the word sheddy to the dictionary for inclusion in the next edition.
