I had promised myself I would paint every day and I dislike how we, or at least I, habitually put other people before myself. Sometimes we have to make time for what we want to do.
I promised myself I would paint every single day.
Obviously sometimes that is impossible, which frustrates me, but isn't a disaster.
Yesterday as I sat wearily in front of the computer I had an inner debate about whether assembling Ikea furniture counts as creativity.
I didn't think so either.
So I painted, posted it and then my internet crapped out again, so I'm writing to you all today!
Hope you have a good one.

I agree, Ikea doesn't leave much room for creativity. Which in the case of flat pack furniture, is a good thing, I think!
I can just see you there, painting a wonderful canvas in the light from a huge candle from IKEA! ;-)
Hi there, I would sincerely like to tell you how incredibly impressed at your stick-with-it-ness, your commitment, and your courage, to paint every. single. day. I love that you were not so attached to the end result that you posted every. single. day. I was looking at ALL the work yesterday with B, and I am most impressed.
I am not sure I could do it. Too caught up in the result. I really really admire what you have done, on all fronts! Congratulations! and Btw I think it looks fantastic!

JG, you do have a point. Creativity in furniture assembly is generally unwelcome.
Senglishexpat....a thought....
Nomad. You are such a wonder. It seems to me that part of the battle is to simply show up every day. That doesn't mean complete of course, but, for me, it works. Got your letter, so nice to hear about everything...we are still thinking of Paris. We've got to clear two more hurdles and we're in. Are you all still around after Xmas?
IKEA furniture requires sometimes a lot of head-scratching. Doesn't that lead to creativity, usually?
Hi there, mom is coming am free before or after the 4th, xoxH of Jan, but even if my mom is here we can still connect. (LOTS!!) :-)
House looks AMAZING and so homey in the nicest way imaginable!
ElP, maybe, if it doesn't lead to hammering your head against something in frustration....
Nomad! Excellent, now we just have to work on some way to lock the front door properly when we're all out! Oh, and tickets. and dates.
