Woke in the night last night and SOARED out of bed, went to check on the girls, who were sleeping, and stumbled back a little confused. I was sure one of them had been calling me frantically.
Weird.
Zzzzzzzz.
This morning the man reminds me there is a very small baby now living downstairs, only a few months old.
Seems it was crying briefly in the night.
That old internal baby alarm still seems to be working just fine.

And don't you find yourself turning toward a baby's cry everywhere you go? I don't think that connection ever leaves us.
How exciting - I love the photos of your new home's historic aspects and enjoying your comments.GM
It never goes away, does it? I turn around all of the time in public places whenever a child says, "Mom."
Beth, really distressed infants still make my blood pressure soar and give me an incredibly strong urge to DO something....
GM, thanks! I think it should be fun over all.
Hula, Never ever ever.
Old habits die hard, especially the maternal instincts. You need to give your subconscious a good talking too so you don't end up sleep deprived like a mother of a newborn.
