I went off this morning, and bought a mac. Mac Pro laptop to be exact.
Haven't had an apple product since the Apple IIe my parents had in the 80s, but Vista...I don't think so...not if I can help it, and the new windows7...I don't want to spend that kind of cash to be a guinea pig.
Mac, should last, and at least I am fairly sure it will work well.
What do you think, did I do good?

You did good, kiddo.
Welcome to the the brighter side.
I LOVE my MacBook pro laptop!
Neither using a mac nor windows, right now :p. Linux is doing just fine for me, like it's been doing for the past 7 years ;). I thought you went broke after buying the house. a Macbook Pro must cost a lot...
by the way, is the kids' "Microsoft" Zune compatible with your Mac?
Good choice!
My hubbie has a Macbook and I am so envious of that. I am working with a PC. :o( I have a Mac at work and really like it. I've been a PC guy since day one but, when the budget allows, will convert to Apple.
Mom, i;m hungry
It suits you!
All the Mac people I know love theirs, except when we try to exchange documents.
Beth, well that's good...
ElP, if I were in an English speaking country I would have totally gone with Linux. Love it, love the idea, love the freedom. However, trying to sort it all out in Catalan/Spanish....I honestly don't have time.
The Zune...I'm trying not to think about that. We still have the PC, so for now, I don't have to.
Doug, I would have stuck with a PC, but I hate Vista, and I don't want to drop that kind of coin to be the guinea pig for Windows 7....
Eldest, so eat something already!
JG, what!?!?!?! HUH!
OH NO!
well, you could have gone with a PC, downgrade it to XP, and then install a Linux on top of it ;). You can find Linux in Catalan, I'm pretty sure :D.
ElP, I should have asked you first.
Poop.
Hopefully the machine will function anyway. Maybe the next one....
Hahaha. That's Mac you're talking about. They're known to function, and pretty dang well do their job, or else there would be no point in paying extra without added value :)
Well thank goodness for that anyway. Geez, you had me sweating for a bit there.
Sorry 'bout that ;). I've never gone mac, only for two reasons: money, and... erm... opportunity. First compy I had was a PC. Now I also have a laptop, which still isn't a Mac. Oh well, maybe one day ;)
I'll let you know how it goes, m'kay?
