If your tired and you know it....lose your?

Back when i was working with kids and mine were younger, and my sister was working a corporate life, which she still is, we had a debate about which attribute fades most when your tired. For me, it was my patience. For her, it was her intellect. We came to the conclusion that it was probably a universal loss of skill and readiness, and I can now attest the truth to that. I am now working mostly in an intellectual capacity, and it was definitely lacking today. Definitely. Now I was also slow and dropped things a lot, and tended to sit if given the option, but where I noticed it most was in my metal speed, or rather my mental numbness.

So what do you think? What do you lose when your too tired? Does it tie into what is called on most in your day?

I think you lose the bit you are using - I can be mentally very tired so that all I want to do is turn off, but the rest of me thinks a long walk is a really nifty idea. Other times you can me physically tired but your brain starts doing cartwheels when you try to sleep. It just goes to show that mum was right and balance in all things is the way to go.

I lose my ability to think straight... and I get a kind of wooly feeling I think of all kinds of things far off in the future, and can't really concentrate on what I need to do in the immediate... I completely agree with Helen... when my brain is switched off all a want to do is go for a walk!

I lose my patience, my brain capacity and my emotional stability.

Bottom line - I'm good for nothing (but sleep).

When I am tired I am toast. The first thing to go is my intelect (such as it is) I get spacey and probably grumpy too. But it's amazing how a good night's sleep snaps everything back into place again isn't it?

Helen: I agree, althoug I am not so sure about the walk. I always crave my BED.

Hilarious: Yeah, and I lose the ability to think of the word I am ......um.........looking for....

Beth: That about sums it up for me. You know the next day your going to be gritting your teeth and getting by, which is really such a waste.

Evalinn: Thanks for dropping by...my husband is from there and we got a job offer and jumped at the chance. Sometimes we really miss the boat, but life is good on the whole.

Trish: Yeah, I'm grumpy too, no doubt, though I can turn that off if I have to....a good nights sleep...yummmm.
