Paris.....

Ok....the first burst of photos....

Walking along the Siene, on what I think was our only sunny day. Have I mentioned that I am missing sunshine? We've barely seen any since before Xmas....

A little sustenance to keep whining at bay...crepes sucre!

Notre Dame..... Quasimoto's buddies!

Pretty, no?

What DO those apostles have up their skirts?

I don't know, bud, what do you think they have up there?????

I LOVE doors....

Aren't they cute? Wildly out of place, but cute? How did they survive?????

OK, I'll grant that the street art looked cooler in person...but I love the sense this sculpture gave....with the sidewalk heaving up and water sprouting out....sort of like this guys work, but real.....

Now....no English speaker would name a restaurant the two maggots....ever...but it must mean something else in French...apparently Simone de Beauvoir and her hoodies hung out here sometimes....the tourists have come in droves ever since.

OK....more later....

Fabulous! I love the sculpture. The "skirt" photos are funny. Love it, love it, love it.

nice noticing the voyeur statues :).

FYI: Magot is a treasure, a loot, or something the likes. Not used anymore very much.

Where, on which church did you find these guys?
Must be your super camera that's enabling you to get close to lots of private jokes and secrets on the facade of the churches.
Usually there is at least some folksy story around as explanation.
Here I'm sure the "peeping-toms" are the craftsmen involved in the building of the facade.
Know more about the German and Italian churches than the French though.GM

Hula, if you are ever in Bath...pronounced Baaahhhhhhth the Cathedral (?) there has the most amazing angels sculpted on them...upside down, sticking out there tongues...a lot of these churches have some humour to them if you look....

LP, Thankyouvery much...and I am hoping you can do a little instant translation here and there as I post....a turn around, now you're looking at your city through my eyes.

GM...they are in the main doorway of Notre Dame, right at eye level....I read somewhere that they are the dead rising up again, but I find that hard to believe, so I may have been mistaken.
