BCN and Birthdays.

Oh my goodness me.

Oh my goodness gracious me.

Oh my goodness gracious blessed me.

I am tired.

We went into BCN today to get birthday gifts for three of the kids' friends, who were having parties, plus the Man wanted some pants...Youngest wanted to wear her roller blades, which got heavy about half way through when she got tired of wearing them, along with the wrist pads, knee pads, elbow pads and helmet. Oof.

The girls went off the their parties, the Man and I went out and watched the parade in town...which was pretty cool. One of the nice things about a small town parade is also seeing all the people you know. About half of the kids I teach were there for instance. It is 10:20 and the band in the plaça is just starting up again....not a quiet night.

It is also funny hearing all the Spanish remixes of English songs, we heard "achey-breaky heart" in Spanish...and there is a woman singing "It's fun to stay at the YMCA" slower and with a kind of romantic tone. Very odd. I don't want to go there.

I also got a jacket for myself....

I love it...it is fuzzy-furry on the outside like a plush stuffed toy...I am now the world's largest, and bony-est, ambulating gund. It also has lots of big pockets tucked neatly in the right places, and is cut slim so I don't look like the Michelin man! Woo hoo....

So cozy.

What's the last thing you bought for yourself? Hope it was something good.

OH! You know what else? Our neighbour, bless his darling Catalan soul, gave us 12 CALCOTS!!!! And the handy-dandy ever-yummy dipping sauce! We'll be cooking that up in our little in kitchen fireplace grill tomorrow!

I'll post pics.

That is a lovely coat. I have a soft fuzzy winter one too, faux fur but not even quite. How wonderful you got all that shopping done and got to the parade too. How kind of your neighbour. Ours gave us cookies yesterday.

Nice coat. I bet The Man likes that you are part Gund :-)

It is funny listening to songs in a different language. The somehow don't sound as good even if the words are still there.

I've been meaning to ask this....what is BCN?

Last thing I bought for myself? Apart from the basic that I buy to eat, 'n' stuff? It was a luggage, I think. Which was crappy. So I brought it back, got a refund, and haven't bought any new since :p

Sirdar, BCN is my lazy way of writing Barcelona...

Lynda, a calçot is an onion kind of job which is very traditional here. I wrote about it before, and I will write quite bit more about it today....

Dawn, aren't neighbours the best?

Sirar, it is about the only thing soft and cozy about me, so I hope he appreciates it.

Elpadawan, luggage? BORING. If you want to buy cheap luggage, I can tell you where to get some in TO...It really is dead cheap, though not the toughest..what can you expect for $20! I've used mine for several trips so far...

Lynda, candles hmm...reminds me I have to go to Ikea for more...unfortunately those plain boring white ones...

Funny you say BCN is Barcelona because that is what I was thinking it was...but wasn't sure. I think I was in Barcelona during our school trip in 1979. I think I posted here that we stayed in Fuengirola.
