Why is it? Perquè és?

I really do want to know why it is that great writers tend to write such dark books.
Vull saber perquè és que els millors escriptors escriuen llibres tan depressius.

Is there something about a happy book that says it has to be badly written?
Hi ha algú d'un llibre alegre que necessita que sigui mal escrit?

Why?  Perquè?

Maybe they think a good book has to be dark and gut-wrenching and make you lose sleep...
I like happy books, some are well written (and on the list of books you read too) :)

all that angst who can take it?!? I like happy books, they can be well written, maybe you're just not reading the right ones? LOL!

What I've always wondered is why in High School they only let you read depressing books being a teenager can be challenging enough with out reading a book that can teach you how to run an island and kill pigs (lord of the flies)! LOL!

I have a friend who's decided to only read books written by women since all the ones written by men the woman always gets killed in the end....LOL!

It does seem that modern writers (a bow to Austin) think that dire = literary....

Sam, what is it with that anyway? You should see what Eldest has to study this year for history, if I list it here, the visits I get will be dreadful...

Done, true.....I have to restrict myself more to modern fiction. Do you giggle when you read her?
